How Many Tutoring Sessions Per Week Does a Student Need?
There is no single right answer, but there is a sensible way to decide. Start from the goal and the timeline, not the price.
Once a week
Works well for a student who is mostly on track and wants steady support, extra practice before tests, or help staying organized. Progress is gradual, so it fits best when there is no urgent deadline.
Twice a week
A strong starting point for most students who are behind, struggling with a current unit, or preparing for a test within a couple of months. The second session turns the first into practice instead of letting the material fade between weeks.
Three or more a week
Best for a short, intense goal: catching up after missed material, a major exam coming soon, or building a missing foundation quickly. It is a sprint, not usually something to keep up forever.
How to decide
- How big is the gap? A small gap closes with one session a week. A large or old gap needs more repetition.
- How soon is the deadline? Less time means more sessions a week for a while.
- How much practice happens on its own? If a student does not practice between sessions, a second weekly session builds that habit.
It can change
Frequency is not a lock. Many families start at twice a week and drop to once as the student catches up, or the reverse before a big exam. On the pricing page each package shows what it includes: a Monthly plan is 4 lessons for every weekly session, so twice a week is 8 lessons a month.
